Default Hirobo shuttle plus VS raptor30v2

Hello, I'm rather new to this hobby. Locally in Singapore, we have great support in terms of spares and technical help for Thunder
Tigers and Hirobo products. Thus, i'm really not sure which to purchase. Can I have some advise and suggestions please ? Also if possible, advise me on the Futaba T6XH radio. How good is it ?

Thanks in advance.

don not get the 6XH , save up for the 9 CHP or if u are budget minded the eclipse 7 Q-PCM would serve u well ..... definately better than the 6XH
oh and regarding the heli , my vote goes to the raptor 30 v2 cos its fully ballraced and i'm refering to the pro version not the sport

Let me put it this way:

The shuttle is like an old ford. Its old, its design may be unparalled to some newer helis in the market. But its a shuttle!!! its been around for so long coz its so reliable!!

A raptor is like a honda!!! Sleek, Fast, Modifyable!!! But after 1 yr. It'll be gone!!!

By the way, Hirobo parts are everywhere!! No problem with it.

If you can afford it, buy a Raptor 30V2 , it is a more modern design than the Shuttle Plus.
Easier to serve and more robust in a crash....
The chassi and mechanics are designed to handle the power of a 50 engine.
But the Shuttle Plus is not a bad heli at all!
It has everything that needs and flies very good.

Don´t buy a Futaba 6XH, it is not a full function heli radio.
The Hitec Eclipse 7, JR 378 or Sanwa RD 6000 Super
are much better medium price alternatives.

I'm glad to see that 3 out of the 5 of u that have replied have told this guy to go for the Raptor V2. I think Maik said it all biut I think he got hte comparisons wrong as Japanese cars are some of the most reliable cars around and I had my V1 raptor for 4 years and Ive only got a new heli now.

I have both the raptor and he shuttle zxx. And I would say its a toss up. If you are just beginning then either one is ok, just find out who has the most abundant parts and lowest prices in your area. If mail orderering then its a non issue. The raptor has the advantage of being able to be upgraded to a 50, which for me is a big plus. As you progress into doing aerobatics the 30 becomes more and more difficult to get power out of. With the 50 conversion it flys close to a 60 put crash prices are like the cheap 30. And it has tons of power without having to tweek it so much. You might also want to look at a Sceadu 30 or 50 or the Kyosho 30 heli's as well. But just so you know the raptor is probably the most popular heli out there and there is a reason for this.

The raptor may be the most popular heli at the moment but I think thats going to change now that the caliber is on the market.

Im in the same boat as genexis, I have been told by another SG member who has done his homework that the raptor30v2 is cheeper to fly and repair. Also more upgrade friedly in terms of engines and better performace.
Im thinking of flying in the face of advice because Im interested in a scale body and Hirobo makes nice bodys that are relativly easy to fit. Fitting a body to the raptor would require plenty of modling skill and time. Once/if I have outgrown the shuttle's performace Id probably go for a Sceadu 50 which also has some nice scale bodys available (greedy bugger wants two heli's )
One other consideration that makes me sway towards the Shuttle plus is the dealer, Singapore Hobby Supplies really impressed me.
The staff were happy to spend time taliking over the options with a moron like me and no pressure to purchase. Cant say the same for the other dealers "want or not ah !" is the normal sales pitch.
Im thinking of the 9 channel radio for future use even though its 300 bucks more.
What engine should I go for bearing in mind I intend to fit a scale body, what I really mean is whats the biggest engine the sucker will take [>:]
Oh by the way, Hi all, its my first post.
