Default Starter Shaft and Starter

Does anybody know the best way the keep the starter
shaft in the cone without slipping or twisting out, I'm
taking the 6mm shaft and placing it in the starter cone
and when I give it the juice it whips out of the cone,
dam thing could pop your eye out, any suggestions.

Don't run the starter with the starter shaft in it unless you are running it in your hand or on the heli start shaft. What I do is put the shaft in the cone then run the starter shaft in my hand till it finds a balance. Then I put the shaft on the heli, start it up, wait till the starter comes to a complete stop and take it out.
