Well, seeing as how I have had both of them...there is alot of difference, and too much for me to list here. I suggest you go to the Futaba website and they have a comparision of radios.

What is diff in 9Z and 9C
Yes there is a lot of differences between the 9C and the 9Z.
The 9Z has a dedicated Swash to throttle mix
The Z has 5 free mixers for each flight mode
plus 3 or 4 pre programmed mixers for eacxh flight mode
ATV's are adjustable in each flight mode
The 9Z can use a synthesized module, data can be transfered from one Z to another via the training cord outlet.
You can change almost any function on the 9Z to any where you would like it.
also 8 flight conditions per model.
