Just started doing inverted autos, its a hoot. Been thinking about trying continous flips on the way down, but i am worried about loosing head speed (it already droops quite a bit when i flip upright). Do i have to wait for the head speed to come back up on each half flip? or can i stay on the elevator for continous flips without it drooping any more than it already does?

Spaceman Spiff,
Congrats on the inverted autos
They are a blast! I havn't tried continuous flipping autos but I have done them with a flip and a piro half way through the flip, and its pushing it. On a windy day you would probably be able to do it, I can get mine to do continuous rolling autos...only gotten one and a half rolls out of it but I'm sure it will do more. You have to stop for a second on each half roll just to keep the head speed up. It also depends on how heavy the blades you are using are, I'm running 140g blades and they auto well. At the end of aerobatic autos I find that comming in fast like a plane and then doing a very steep fast flare gets the head speed up to enough to keep it hanging for a bit at the end, if you don't do this you'll have to be set up very very good and there won't be any time to mess around at the bottem

If you haven't tried aerobatic autos yet, i wouldnt recommend staying on the elevator. Practice with half flips and/or rolls. Be careful and make sure your blades are tight, and also make sure your quick on flippin the hold switch off(just in case
). The trick to aerobatic autos is timing. Usually if you time things good, you dont loose that much headspeed.
Have fun!!!

I had to do a scary auto with my Fury last year. Inverted hovering about 2 feet high and my engine quit!! Got it upright ok, and there only just enough energy left in the blades to set it down gently. One VERY lucky escape.

You definatly one lucky/quick thinking guy. Speaks volumes on the capability of the Fury too.
I smushed my heli last weekend. I landed breifly to check my fuel, and forgot that i had switched to normal mode. Right after take off i fliped upside down. DOH! i was using te JR X 378 which has an awkward position for the mode switch. i flipped a switch i thought was the mode switch, but of course it wasn't! [X(] I was able to get it upright, but nothing to spare for landing. It hit pretty hard. Got really lucky on the damage though. Only about 15$ damage. i was overdue on some luck i guess!
