Default Raptor

Okay bear with me because I dont know jack about raptors or R/c helis for that matter but, some guy is selling a white raptor with a carbob fiber shaft, gyro, motor, and all. He said all i need is a 6-9 channel radio and those huge landing gear things and i would be able to fly it and learn on it safely. It is a nitro raptor. He wants $200 for it. Is that a good deal. again i dont kno what model or anything but it seemed like a good deal but since i dont know anything about these things i figured Id ask you guys. I mainly stick to the t-maxx and monster truck forums on here because thats what im used to. But was that a good deal? should i buy it? maybe if its porfitable i will sell it on ebay? how much do you all think they are worth? He said the motor was just rebuilt and just broken in.

Sounds like a very good deal.

if you have access to a local heli pilot, have him take a look to be sure it is in good condition. most things can be fixed pretty cheaply, but if the bearings are all rusted it can actually cost more to replace the bearings as individual parts that it costs to get a new kit.

maby you could ask him more speciffic things about the heli, like which gyro it is, the servo's, ... And then post that here. so we can judge ... [8D]

never the less, it does sound like a good deal. But do try to ask him that. (keep in mind that there aren't many people who want to sell something cheap, there is almost always a catch ... [:@])

it would be a very good idea to practice on a simulator quite a while before trying to fly it, would also be a goo0d idea to find someone who knows helis to make sure it is all set up corectly. helis are a blast, but they can be a real pain, even a littel dangerous to learn on.

I realize that these are fun as anything but can be a bit more time consuming of a hobby than my monster trucks and touring cars are. Thats why Im thinking i might just buy it and flip it on ebay. maybe add a radio and sell it for a few hundred more. How much is a decent receiver/radio that would run this heli. he said it can fly with a 6 channel radio but he recommmends a 9 channel.

I would love to learn to fly this thing but I honestly dont have any more spare time to learn.
