I just wanted to know if anyone has used or seen a 4 stroke OS heli motor in a 30 sized heli. Like the Raptor V2.
Is the noise much less with the 4 stroke? Is power about the same as the OS 32 two stroke? Will they run alot longer on a tank of fuel? Noise is my concern.
Thanks

Kyosho had the Nexus Legato, which I think used an OS .52 4-stroke, and Century has(had?) the Pheonix, dunno anything about that one. Generally, fuel consumption is about 1/3 less with four strokes, noise isn't less, dB wise, but far less irritating. This is all based on airplane experience, though. Heli applications may vary.

If noise is your main concern, using a 4-stroke isn't necessary. Most of the helicopter mufflers are very quiet. I used a Hatori muffler on my OS 32 and it was quieter than any 2-stroke airplane.
I am currently converting my Xcell 60 to 4-stroke, so in a few weeks I'll be able to comment on fuel economy, noise, power, etc.
