I must say that I'm not overly rapt about the new layout of this forum (splitting things up into their topics etc), it would be fine if we could click on a button that gave us all the new posts since we last visited much like that of another well known site.
It's just that I can't be stuffed going through each and every category to see if anything new has been added.
Thought you might like some feedback.

We can see if we can add a button to see all new posts, the main reason for splitting up things was to allow , a guy looking for posts specific to let's say MA he could go directly to that and not be bothered by reading though topics that don't apply. With all post together you have to read over countless posts or search to even find the brand helicopter your looking to find info about. We also what to make the Manufactures coming on to the site see the activity of the brands they represent. When there is a new post the check mark will be lit up yellow so you know there's a new post.

I've always been in favor of keeping it the way it was also. It didn't take long to skim through the headers to find the information that you want. With it this way there is the chance of missing good information unless you go into each forum and check it.
I'm willing to give this a try for a while and see how it goes and see how the members like it. Nothing says that it has to remain the way it is. We'll adapt and run things to accommodate the majority of members.

We???
I agree with the consensus; put it back like it was.
I realize this is an effort to improve things, but as the master of brevity, Mongo, put it so well, those of us on a time budget just do not care to wade through all the extra areas.
I feel the same way in regards to the way the Engine Forum was split up. Yes, it is a small thing, but the extra clicks needed to get where I want to be are annoying. Lately, I have made the effort to go there because of wanting information on a new four-banger, but once that itch is satisfied I will go back to not making the place a regular stop.
I really despair at seeing this; RCU has become what RCOnLine used to be; the best all-purpose r/c board. But all these "improvements" are making the place less user-friendly to some of us. Nothing personal, that's just the way it is.

If the consensus is that it is all better as one forum I will certainly change it back...the beauty of the way I work is that I'm willing to try something but if in fact it wasn't better I'll change it back in a heartbeat...if I get a solid feel that nobody likes this can I change it back tonight? Sure! If we can all bear with it for a few days to let a few more users chime in on it to see if everyone is or isn't in agreement than we will know exactly what is needed here and if we should in fact go back to RCU's single heli forum format...
Now...if there was a view new posts button only for heli's would that make a difference or not???

I have to agree with everyone else; the new layout sucks. If I wanted individual categories I'd go to RunRyder. I like the ability to scan down the list and pick the posts I want to see regardeless of what brand heli they may apply to. Jumping back and forth is waste of my time.
And, if I'm looking for a specific topic I'll do a search. Please put it back the way it was.
Jeff (who fervently hopes that posters use a coherent subject line that relates to their topic so browsers like me will knowwhat their topic relates to before clicking on it)

I to do not care for the new layout. I came here the other nite looking for some imfo, and just generall browsing. When I saw how dificult it was to navigate the system. I oppted not to even bother. Not that it was technicaly dificult. I just didn't find it user freindly. Please put it back the way it was.
Thank you!

It sounds unfair if you say (If the consensus is that it is all better as one forum I will certainly change it back ...the beauty of the way I work is that I'm willing to try something but if in fact it wasn't better I'll change it back in a heartbeat...if I get a solid feel that nobody likes this can I change it back tonight?). That means if the heli members do not like it to bad! It's not consensus of the entire RCU forum!
Am I wrong in the way that you said it? This is cut -n- paste. Again just my $0.02 cents!

We look for ways to make this site better to do that you have to take a chance to do something else or different. This is a GROUP FORUM not a dictated forum we what to make all the uses who enjoy the site happy ,bottom line not "just one person". If that means we group everything to getter as it was so be it.

Marc,
I'm glad you made that clear! You and your staff had me wondering about all this.
I'm not trying to be a wise guy here but isn't RCU a forum? And Airplanes, Cars, Boat, Heli's etc just categories!
FuryFlyer2 (Paul G.),
I was not bashing you or Ron! Somebody said We. And I stated that we was you and Ron. So that is bashing?
I did like how you deleted my post. That's alright I have a screenshot of it.

Anytime you change things and try something new there will be some resistance to the change. Then the questions arise on why not have a dedicated gasser forum or a dedicated scale forum. It seems to me that once you start you are in a position of trying to satisfy everyone but satisfy no one.
While I think the one button for all unread posts would help make things easier I'd still like all the posts to be under one forum. I sometimes like to browse back in the older posts and see if there are any I might have missed or I might have a flash of brilliance and have an answer for a question I didn't have previously. Unfortunately those flashes don't happen often....
Now to something serious.....
Gone Flyin the rest of the afternoon.
