Default Nitro disolving chrome on my 9CHP!!

Looks like what I thought was chromed metal faceplate on my 9CHP is really just chromed plastic! I had some nitro residue on my hands and it looks like it's beginning to take the chrome off!

Anyone else have this happen??

Default RE: Nitro disolving chrome on my 9CHP!!

i bet you its just crome paint on the part and with any other fuel if you dont clear coat it the fuel will eat the paint... Had it happen to a friend of mine that just did a bare metal finsh on a p-51d. well he didnt cover the entire plane with clear coat and spilt some fuel and it started eating the paint
