Default JR Interference problem

Hi all

There is a guy at our club who has a Raptor 50 (He also has a Raptor 30 which has a PCM receiver but has no problems with it.) and is using a JR PCM 9X and an R700 PPM receiver. All servos are digital and when he does a range check with the transmitter aerial retracted he starts to get interference after about 15m.What could the cause be or is it normal?
His antenna seems to be routed properly.I can't think of anything else being wrong.

Thanx

I assume this is with the engine off? If not, look for vibration induced interference. If as I suspect this is with the engine off your best bet is to swap out the receiver and try that. He could for the sake of testing pull the rx antenna completely away from the heli and lay it on the ground and try it that way just to see of range improves. I don't fly JR but there has to be a reason the range is that short. He should get a solid 50 meters with collapsed tx antenna.
The best way to find a problem such as this is experimenting. Also check the crystal.
With all that said, I'd bet the rx has a problem.

Yes that is with the enigne off.He is going to get another receiver,I also thought it would be the receiver. It's weird because the reciever is brand new.But I suppose it is possible that it is poked.
Thanks for your reply.

The 8700G should only be used with a PCM rx for exactly this reason. Rzanasi makes a good point.

I use an 8700G on the tail too.

Yes he does have the JR G5000T gyro with a digital servo and is using the JR R700 receiver which is not PCM.That makes sense then why he is getting interference.
Thanks a lot!
