Wonder what kinda bird it was.. btw, that converts to 80 miles (US).. im just thinking, but you'd haveta have a pretty big tank to run long enough to cover 80 miles, at any speed (whithin the reach of a r/c heli)...

I've thought about doing this myself.. just dont know a stretch of road nearby long enough and infrequently used enough to try it.. would be interesting to know how "far" you could fly on a tank, just for the personal record books.. lol

I've done a "cross country" flight from a truck. I only flew about 25 miles with a Hawk Sport and TT39. I think a R50 with a large fuel tank could easily go 80 miles.

A usual R/C plane can fly 80mph, someone should try it with a Magnum 40 which can reach 200mph lol

Yes you are very right......and I actually started a thread about that telling about that helicopter.....[link=http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_1245207/anchors_1245207/mpage_1/key_longest%252Cflight%252Cwater%252Cmodel%252Chel icopter/anchor/tm.htm#1245207]TRY HERE[/link] to get to that thread, and read about......

I personally think that a helicopter 50, 60 or 90 could easily go 80 or something like basmntdweller said......

But, there is that story you were talking about....I think it was about 39 miles that the guy with the JR Vigor helicoper flew across Port Phillip Bay....
