I was trying to set up a nexus 30 of my brothers. It seems to bob up and down a fair amount. He is using a jr 622 with a 3 point pitch and throttle curve. Since I am new at this I am looking for sugestions. thanks in advance

I had that problem in breezes, thought the bobbing was a bit excessive, reduced the lower end of the pitch curve a bit giving me more negative pitch and its much better now, much better response to throttle/collective.

As it is not yet halloween and I am asuming there are no barrels or tubs on your flying site with apples floating in them, it cannot be bobbing for them.
SO.....
I would greatly suspect that your throttle / pitch curves are set for too low an RPM.
I am also assuming that your heli is hovering at the stick position that you want it to hover at. (For most beginners that is at half stick but for some that are into 3D that can be anywhere from half to 3/4 syick) )go to the mid point on the pitch curve and bump it down two points and to the throttle curve and bump it up two points. You will notice that now the head speed has increased. Continue to adjust as described until the bobbing stops.
