Sure do. a wonderful gentleman.
In 1985 I bought a Schluter Helistar with Twinstar (AS355) fuselage. He had built one in PHI scheme. I wrote to him for some advice, and he took the time out to write me back with all kinds of advice and hints for the build. Later spoke to him on the phone and he was very cool.
There are very few (1-2) manufacturers that really take the time out to assist someone with a personal touch wihtout looking for something in return.

Roy,
My flying Pard just gave me two cassettes of Walt discussing the set up of a Heli Boy. I have not gotten my old cassette player out of mothballs yet, but I am really looking forward to listening to them. He was a character. First contest I ever flew, he invited me into his motor home after the contest, and we talked Heli's for several hours.
LoL

Roy,
Ted and I beleive, Tim, are his son's. They have always been very helpful too. Tim was with Walt for years, going to contests promoting. Ted started comming to the contests about three years before the dropped Schluter and started designing their own bird. (I think I got the names right... Its been a long time.) Does anyone know if they are still running the company?

Hi guys, I know Tim is running the company for sure. I haven't seen Ted at the latest trade shows where they come to, so he could be doing something else.
Things are never the same after you loose an important driving force, but I'm here to tell you that Tim is just as helpful as Walt was and a genuinely nice guy to deal with.
Cheers, TME

Ms. Florence Schoonard, Walt's wife is the President and owner of Miniature Aircraft. Son Tim is the Vice President, and in charge of design and production. Ted (Walt Jr) worked with the company for many years but left to pursue other business opportunities.

Thanks for getting back. Was it Tim that was with Walt from the start, or atleast, in the Heli-Boy era? I do not know if I have the names correct. I beleive that Ted came on board around the Superior release, and helped put together the Minature aircraft line. Is this correct?
Both were great help to me, but it has been too long ago, to put the names with the duties.
Thanks again,
WH

Yes, Tim was on the 89 world team. Ted started competing and finished as high as second in F3C at the NATS and was instrumental in design of the X-Cell line. After leaving the company, Ted is involved in the custom painting business and does high end work on Harley's etc.
Tim is currently doing most of the R&D and is in charge of production for MA. Chris Stevenson is now full time there and is doing the development work on the IonX and all the electric systems.
