Default RE: gyro what??

A gyro is an electonic device that interfaces with the radio system via the rudder channel. The purpose of the gyro is to aid the pilot by stabilizing the tail. Without a gyro, controlling the tail rotor is very difficult.

I could be wrong, but I don't think the Raptor helis come with CCPM. The JR helis do, though. CCPM stands for: Cyclic Collective Pitch Mixing. In a normal non-CCPM (or, refered to as mechanical mixing) machine, there is one servo for collective, one servo for fore/aft cyclic, and one servo for right/left cyclic. These servos are conected to the swashplate by a series of bellcranks and levers. No special mixing programs on the tx are required. On a machine that utilizes CCPM, the three servos are directly connected to the swashplate. All three move together to control collective and a special mixing program on the tx controls the servos to get the cyclic commands. There is much debate over which is better. The biggest advantage of CCPM, I can see, is that you can use standard servos safely. There are other adv/disadv. Maybe someone else can step in here and add to this.
