If you haven't tried it yet, check the mainshaft. Pull it and roll it on a piece of glass, if it's not perfectly smooth...replace it.

It seems as though none of the molded in bearings for the tail grips are true with the hub. And at $50 a pair it's too expensive to try and find a true pair of grips. Through my experience you can take a brand new set of grips, new 2mm shcs and assemble them to a new hub and the assembly will not be close to true. Take a grip in each finger and thumb and pull outward. The hub will spin, rotate and wobble. My tail now is the best it has been but there is still a high freq buzz. The vertical fin is just a bit blurry and I know it's just a matter of time before something fatigues again and the VE yard darts.

I have had horizontal fins break, tail shafts bend and tail boxes fatigue. A couple times during forward flight causing pretty major repair bills.

It's a dumb fix but if you take the tail hub off the shaft and tweak around the bb's in the grips and play with the the 2mm grip mounting screws you can get the grips pretty true to the hub. Remember to locktite them screws.

I just ordered some Eco 8 tail parts. They look very similar to the VE tail stuff. It also has a 3 mm tail shaft and replacable bb's in the grips. The grips are only $7 a pair compared to being forced to buy the entire $50 JR version. Hopefully they will be straight and adapt to the VE tail box.

I will post how the Eco stuff adapts to the VE.

I had the same problem and I replaced the tail slider and slider arm with the K&J metal parts and that took care of the problem also the tail drive gear off the main gear was bent so I replaced it also I had the problems from first flight but after tearing down the heli completely and checking all parts this was the problems now it flys great.I cannot say that this would fix yours I have read many posts on many forums about this problem and almost every one was different as to how it was fixed.Seems as though this heli came out of the box with many problems built in but I still would not trade it for any other because when it is flying it is the best.I have also had problems with a very loose head but after a few fixes and putting in thrust bearing kit it is fine now to.Also one really good fix you can do is the stretch kit for it,this is not a kit per say since you have to buy the parts and put it together yourself but I now run MAH 463mm main rotor blades as compared to the 420mm stock blades and I can go as high as 470mm I also run MAH 75/4mm tail rotor blades instead of the small stock ones the larger rotor disk adds more stable flight characteristics to the heli.
