Default remote glow clip

does anybodt make one of these that lasts longer than a month?! my 4th one has just died and its doin my head in, the wire either fatigues and breaks at the engine side or the glow side. ive tried fixing all of them but the fix never lasts long so i end up getting a new one. i know there only cheap to buy but surely should last longer than this?

yeah you connect your glowstarter to the glow clip, the glow clip has a wire that goes to the engine and a wire that goes to the glow plug.

Dan,

Try the one from MPI. I had a Sullivan, which was junk, but I've had the MPI one on all season.

I've got so frustrated with the poor quality/longevity of all of these remote glows that after much trial and error, I've found that the best setup is to replace the engine end plug with an insulated croc-clip. Works every time, never falls off, easy to get on and off, much better than either the bent wire type or the cap type of connector

Heliproz sells one for the Raptor made by Maverikk that has held up pretty well on my 50 and I just put one on my nexus scale ship.

Over the years I have tried the McDanials one,TT one, the KSJ one, the Century one and a few others. They all fail sooner or later. But by far, the longest lasting ones have been the ones from Century.

I use an RCA socket (female - get it from Maplins for pence) mounted to frame and connected to glow plug with wire(coiled) to a croc clip permanently attached to the g plug and an earth runs to engine bolt. Then have the male plug on the end of a lead to my power panel in my field box. The lead is about 3 feet long. Never ever have any problems and is soooo quick. Only ever used my glow plug gizmo once and hated it.

Hanger 9 make one similar to that. instead of a "dummy glowplug" for a connecter it has an 1/8 inch? jack. i looks like a headphones jack. it also comes with a wire with the male jack on one end and a connecter that you attach your glow igniter to. i just leave the wire adapter attached to my igniter and just slide the jack in or out on the heli. hard to explain. but is exactly the same as the one described by heli-john exept is uses a headphone lack instead of RCA jacks, and its not home made. have yet to have any trouble with it.

here it is....

What kind of glow stick? It may be one that you need to push it in, then twist it and it will lock on, or you may need to pull back a metal ring, push it against the plug and then let the ring go and it will lock in, those are the tqo glow sticks I know of...
