Can anyone help on figuring out what this heli is. Its a fixed pitch 4 channel heli missing one main blade. it was given to me from a co-worker and am looking to find some parts for it and mainly to see what it is I plan on cleaning it up and just hanging on it up but would like to try to restore it for display. it has a 15.5" blade a 20" boom and 32" overall here are some pics for you all to see.[sm=confused.gif]

I figured this out it is the GMP cricket Heli from the late 70s Early 80s. its not worth fixing up might just clean it up get an old set of blades from my nexus and hang it for display purposes i guess.

My Feedback: (9)
It looks like my old Cricket at least some of it does. I didn't remember the engine side mounted but the belt drive out the back I remember. I dorked mine many times and never really got much hover time. I could do little hops but as soon as I lost the tail it was over. Gyros made heli flight possible for me. It wasn't gonna happen without them. My Cricket was finally lost when it got too high and into forward flight. I flew it around for several minutes before I crashed it, in the middle of the street. It didn't fare well to say the least.
If I remember correctly, they cost more than a Raptor 30 does now!

Oh, yeah. That's exactly what it is. Run as fast as you can. Or, as you said, hang it up as an example of how not to design a helicopter. This was my first helicopter and a total waste of money and time. I gave up on heli's for several years until I bought a Concept 30 which I could actually learn to fly with.

You know what the really revolting thing is about the GMP Cricket? In the 80's these things cost around $200. I paid a little over that for my C30 a few years later, which I was able to learn to fly with and did get disgusted with and throw down the basement stairs. 20 years later a Hawk Sport can be had for $40 less!
