Default Nitro fuel

Hello all,

I am new to the world of RC helicopters. I have finished building my Raptor 30 and need some fuel, I know which fuel to get. Unfortunatley out of the 5 hobby shops in my town NONE, ZERO, NOT ANY of them deal with heli's. So my question is if anyone lives in Florida in the Ocala, Gainesville, Lake City, Leesburg area knows of a hobby shop that deals with heli's could you PLEASE let me know.

Thanks a lot,

Matt

To be honest. About any fuel will suffice. as long as its got plently of lubrication. I use wildcat 15-20% and it works just fine. Try ordering from Morris Hobbies, they ship by the gallon instead of by the case. and have good service. The only time I've had to be choosy with fuel, was with my monster trucks. Airplanes and heli's have plenty of air moving freely over the engine's head to keep it running cool, whereas a truck has an enclosed engine. If you've ever flown a plane with a tight fitting cowl, you know what I'm gettin at. Just my 2 cents! take care

It should be all synthetic. Between 5% and 30% nitro. Preferrably on sale.
Pretty much any name brand fuel is ok if it falls into the above category.
Castor oil fuel is not recommended.

If they have Cool Power Airplane blend, buy it. It's the same exact fuel as the heli blend. You can go on the fuel mfg's websites and get the info on their different fuels. You want to look for a straight synthetic fuel with at least 17% oil (like the CP fuel is) preferably 18-20%.
