Hi fellas, I've been flying electric helis for a while now and decided to graduate to gas, so i figured i'd go grab a 60. Got everything all put together and ready to go, links set, pitch set, engine set, but got to the last thing before flight - blade tracking. I CAN NOT get this thing to track right for anything. Maybe im just used to small electrics which i never had a probem with but it seems that i can't get the blades to come closer than 1/4" together. I've put alot of tape on the light blade, even tried electric tape just see if the extra weight would work. Well it didn't, helped a little but not to my satisfaction. I got some aerotech woods, are these just bad blades? I know they are cheap but seems that they shouldn't be this far out of wack. Any advice?
thanks

What heli is it? Could be a lot of things depending on the type of helicopter or blades. Wood blades can warp which could make it impossible to track or the balance could be way off.

its a kalt mercury 60 - what i was talking about was the tape tracking - every other heli ive had wasn't ccpm so i didnt have to worry about pitch linkages - so offhand do you know what link i should shorted or lenghten? I guess add pitch to the lower blade?
The blades are brand new, so im hoping warping is out the question.

Well i tried to add pitch to the lower blade and it took 1 1/2 turns and the blades are great - running together and no wobble to the heli anymore. Thanks alot guys for your help

It doesn't matter if the helis are eCCPM or mCCPM the pitch links will have to be adjusted on both styles so the blades will be in track. If you have not had to adjust blade tracking before you was just lucky is all I can say

Well my last heli didn't have pitch links at all. The blades were fixed pitch determined by the degrees of the grips. You could buy them in 2,4, and 6 deg. pitch. If your blades were off, tape was the only thing that could be used to balance. Thats why i was confused on why i couldn't make it work

Balance of blade and pitch of blade is two different things.
Balance really has little to do with the blades being in track and the pitch of them. I don't see how adding tape to a blade can make it be in track or not even on a fixed pitch. If your refering to an LMH heli, then you still have to adjust the pitch links to track the blades even thou it is fixed pitch.
