Battery in Venture
Whats the biggest battery you guys have been able to cram into a venture's battery compartment? were you able to use foam around it? I want to get something bigger but my 1100 was a bit of a tight fit.
Thanks!

Well, you could always put your battery on the upper shelf where your receiver is......
Make a shelf to extend flight pack farther forward, this would also aid for better C.G.
If you were to ask my opinion, I would purchase a field charger. If you are running an O.S.32, it would probably "Thank You" for it!
Have fun!

I used a 2700mah NIMH 4.8v wrapped with 1/4" thick foam. Fit perfect. Running all 9252s and a 9253 on the tail I still got 10 flights out or a charge!
Check Heli-Hut. They used to be $25 but may have gone up. These are SANYO cells!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

That's one of the benefits of NIMH(Nickel Metal Hydride). This cell type is usually MUCH smaller and lighter than an equivalent NICD battery.
Downside? Well, it takes longer to charge and these cells DO NOT handle overcharges very well like NICD does. Also, if you have a cell in flight NIMH defaults to an open circuit. But, myself and others have been using them for years in helis, cars, boats, and planes and they are excellent for our hobby.
I just checked Heli-Hut. They no longer list them on their site. But, I think Radical RC and other online battery sellers can hook you up.
