After deciding that the stabs on my heli didn't realistically serve any practical or proven application other then asthetic dressing, I removed the horizontal stab altogether and made my own "stinger" for the t/r.
It is 0.3 oz. heavier then the stock plastic stab, and is made out of 1/8" Al., so it's pretty sturdy. I will be milling out the center section of it to lighten it up a bit. I might also powdercoat it black to match once the piece is all finished. My buddy Morgan Mikuletzsky, owner of T&S Fabrication and I whipped it up in about 30 minutes tonight.
I can also have it made in carbon fiber for quantities of 20 or more. BTW - while the antenna looks as tight as a guitar string, it does have some give to it. I will be adding a hole further down on the stinger for the rubber band, or I'll keep it where it is and just use a longer band.
I can make this for other tails as well, I just need a stock stabilizer and to know how far it is spaced from the actual mounting point. The one on the Hawk Sport is spaced out by 7/16" and has the spacers molded into the stock stabilizer.
Let me know what you all think:

I like it and it looks a lot more "solid".
Even something simple like drilling holes in an increasing diameter would lighten it up and make it look "cooler"

the other night my friend and I milled out the center of the stinger. It is now 0.8 oz. , 0.6oz lighter then the stock plastic stab.. we're going to make one out of .090 guage aluminum as well...should be a bit lighter then the 1/8" but just as effective
