There are several out there that will do what you want I think the 3 most popular are G3, Refelx XRT and AFPD?
I personally use G3 and don’t have any problems with it what so ever. I have a very high end system with all brand name part so IMO that’s half the battle. G3 is very resource intensive so if you do go this way make sure your computer is up to it.
Please do your self a favor and don’t listen to anyone that say this sim is miles away for the others or all the others are games. These are very biased opinions and bad at that. Pick one and it will do what you want.

I have to agree. I have Real flight G2 with 4 add-ons. Add ons give more airports to fly in and more planes and heli's. I have 107 hours on real flight. My raptor 30 helicopter flies very close to the raptor 30 and other heli's on real flight. [8D] The club I joined insisted on 90 hours of flight simulator time before they would assign me a trainer.
Do not attempt to fly your helicopter before having it professionall set up and flown by a Helicopter pilot. You will open your wallet if you do!! [>:]

notwithstanding the CAPTIALIZED REPLY ABOVE, most people would agree that certain sims are more realistic than others in terms of both physics and graphics. i've tried them all and think reflex XTR to be the best overall sim for helis. realflight G2 is just not the same league...even G3 feels wrong. AFPD is too easy.

notwithstanding tanner halls OPINION,try out all that you can and pick the one that feels right for you-I taught myself how to fly choppers in 1990 when there were no affordable or dependable sims,or that many experienced instructors.Aint crashed one of these birds yet

I have had three types but I preferred the one I use now which is FMS. It's simple - as I am - and it suits me the best. I don't like having to mess with a sim's settings apart from some basic setup. But the trick is, finding the one that suits and unfortunately finding it can be difficult and thus expensive as they are not cheap and you need to try it for a week or two to be really sure. I will say this though, I had a positive dislike of Realflite. If I lived in your boots for a week I could advise you but I don't and unfortunately, as they've said already, it really is personal preference.

The only sim I tried so far is G2. I know it is NOT the same as real life flying but it is extremly valuable as far as stick time is conceraned. What I mean by that is orientation - nose in, inverted nose / tail in etc. The point I am trying to make is any sim is better than no sim. Maybe with XTR the physics are closer to reality but still, IMO you wont be able to do the same things with your heli that u can do w/ your sim. No simulator will provide you the 'fear' and andrealine rush as your real heli will when you see it upside down for the first time. I spent hours on the sim doing 3D stuff and once I finally set my bird up for 3D, it felt like i could only do about 10% of the total that i learned. BUT ... the adventage of actually doing it, learning how it handlles in certain situations is pricless. I know it saved me about 3 times from a total disaster - you just learn how to recover cause you've done it on your screen about 50 times before .... anyways.. my 2 cents

Well flying a REAL helicopter is never like the sim because there is no "pucker factor". I have a used version of G2 because you do not need as much of a PC to run it with all the effects on. Plus it was cheap used.
My buddy is selling his G2 with add-ons. I will pm ya.

Why don't you try F.M.S. It's a free download. All you need to use it properly is a cheap USB gamepad, the kind with two joysticks,(X-Box style) $25.00 at any Best Buy store. The one I bought is a Logitech. Thats what I used, saved me a ton of money. Use a search engine to find it. Download beta 7 for Windows. Then you can even patch in different types of aircraft, all free.

Get the FMS and buy an interface so you can use your actual radio. I have the JR one - got it from Tom's.
Or you could get the lot from there!!!!!!!!!!
