I have not used the digitals, but I knew people who have and they have no complaints.

the complaint I've heard is that they get
sloppy fast. Personally, I'd go w/ 9252's first

Default fury

earlier:

I just ordered a Fury expert with Futaba horn supports, what would have to be changed to get the horn supports to work with the hitec digitals. I have 2 5645's and 4 5625's from a giant scale that went in and I'm thinking of using them in the fury. Suggestions?

Now:

Nevermind, I am trading them and plan on using 9252's and a 9202 on throttle and 401/9253 on tail, thanks guys.

apfirehouse: you are gonna have a dard time finding the right size servo horn for Hitech, the fury needs all balls to be 20mm out fron the center of the servo horn. and i am not sure if the support post will screw into the servo.

i also found that the hitech servos generate a lot of noise and may cause the radio to glitch.

Optech: I have in two separate incidences have had interference generated by the Hitech digital servos (hs5945). This was in my Hirobo tow cobra, since replacing these to JR 8417 no problems have occurred. Of course this is a tight fuse and it may have attributed to the problem. The Hitech's do generate more noise then all the other digital servo's that I have used. The above mentioned servos are now installed in my U-can-do-3d and are working fine, of course they are now located a minimum of 2 feet from the receiver.

optech quote: Besides that I highly doubt Hitec, or anybody, for that manner would sell a product that knowingly causes glitching.

Ok how about JR and the 8417 servo attached to a high frequency HH gyro, It was well known not to use this combination but it was the desired combo that jr recommended.

JR would not openly admit that there was a problem with this servo in the above mentioned configuration, they also updated the motors trying to resolve the problems but still they would not admit that there was a problem. I personally have crashed twice with my fury extreme because of the damn servo failing in flight.

As for motor specs here are some of the digital hitech specs.

I'm using 5625's no problems at all. But they DO draw a lot of power. The unwanted glitches occur after the second flight. I have intalled a redundand battery system with two switches and it is working flawleslly.

I am running HITEC digitals in my extreme. No problems whatsoever. They DO NOT contribute to glitching.
The futaba supports will work fine and do work fine.
The only non-HITEC servo is for the tail fut 9253.
As far as power consumption, most dig will increase the draw. The report that i saw, showed that HITEC was the lowest offender in this area. I run one battery, one switch. As far as the "buzzing" goes, a buddy is running JR's and they are louder than mine. I also use HITEC dig. in my 35% planes.
But i'm sure as soon as someone sees this, they'll want to argue.
These are my opinions, but they do come from working knowledge.
Thanks
George

Default RE: hitec digital servos for FURY

I have an Expert w/ Hi-Tec 5945's, they really fly great. They have been in for about a year and no probs.!!! I really like these things, they have sooooo much power and precision, perfect for heli's! Just make sure that you use a BIG battery, they guzzle juice. I use 3000 mAh NiMh sub C's in mine and all of the guys that I fly with do the same.

My 2 cents
