Default I just got

I just got a new set of Mavrik blades for my Venture 30.There are no plastic blade holders with them, just a couple washers to take up the slack in the blade grips.I never flew carbon fiber blades before, just stock wooden ones or fiberglass and they always useed a glued on,plastic blade holder..Are these meant to be used with just the shims and no blade holders glued on?Im takin it out in the morning so I need an educated answer asap.
Thanks
Joe

Yes, you use the washers on the top and bottom, if they will fit snug in the grips. If not and you can not get them in the grips with washers, you do not need to use them, providing they are snug in the grips. On my Caliber 30 and the G4 Carbons, I use the washers, they are very snug and you have to use some force to slide them in the grips, but once in, they are nice and smooth. On my Sceadu EVO 50 my Mavriks do not need the washers, the blades fit snug without. Hope this helps, and happy flying! They are nice flying blades!!!

The second you lift off the ground with your Mavriks you'll never use the woodies again....definately worth the money. I slip one washer under each blade for a nice fit on my Venture. Have fun!

This might seem like a silly question ... but whats the main difference between woodies and carbon blades ??? Is it mostly balance or do they actually give you more lift ? All I used so far were woodies as I cant justify learning inverted hovering etc w/ a set of expensive blades. I simply treat the heli I have now as a trainer and if I crash (sooner or later) it just wont cost me that much. By the sound of things anything other than woodies is much better so have I really missed a lot? Any opinions ?

They are more efficent so you get more lift with less throttle. They are stiffer so they don't flex and go out of track during manuvers and they are generally balanced within a gnats ***** right out of the box so they are usually bolt and fly. They also look better and cost more when you bust em.

Thx. I thought that woodies could be less efficient w/ producing lift but since thats all I always used I have nothing to compare them to. I got my current blades painted which looks pretty good and they are balanced well but ... again more lift and proper balance without tape etc is always a big plus. I think i'll get them for next season. Thanks for your reply.

You need to throw a little more pitch into your curves to slow them down a bit.

If your doing aerobatics you'll notice, also autos will be much improved due to the increased efficency and more energy.
