ive got a jr venture. the antenna hangs underneath and runs to the back and hooks on the bottom of the fin.
havent had any problems like this it just looks like crap. can i run it up along the tail boom or
will it pick up a lot of interference? im on my 3rd gallon of fuel with no problems but im worried about the
antenna hanging like this. any sugestions?

So I buy and use base loaded antennas. A lot of people say they cause crashes bot Ive never had one.Just make sure your batteries are completely charged and do a range check before you fly

Mine is conected in a similar fashion on my R50. It runs from about half up the skids to the horizintal fin. You do not want the antenna running parralel to any metal, such as the tail boom or the tail braces.

I used a piece of the canopy I cut out for the windshield to make an attachment point held by a fin bracket screw and then used a rubber band to hold the antenna to that on the horizintal fin bracket. It's worked very well thus far.

Won't solve your issue with the looks, but one little trick I've always used for my antenna's is to always save all the little servo arms you end up clipping or breaking off. As long as they have three good holes, they work perfect as an antenna keeper. Just pass the antenna through the first hole, then loop it around a rubber band and back into the second hole, on the back feed back into the third hole and pull it tight between the second and third. Before doing this, you can adjust how much "slack" you have in between the first and second hole to adjust length, etc... When your done, you can wrap the rubber band on the horizontal fin and it makes a perfect keeper. Also works great on planes, just stick a push-pin in to attach the rubber band to. The servo arms also work great as strain reliefs for the antenna. Before exiting a hole, or going into an antenna tube for example, put one of these arms on it (only two holes are needed for strain relief). This will put the stress on the relief itself and keep it from "pulling" on the wire attached to the receiver.

I route mine back through the antenna holes/brackets in the landing gear, then back along the tail boom brace... works great for me. I have two Raptor 50s and a Venture 30 routed like that, and never had a range or glitching problem...

thats the way it was. i learned that from my planes. i was just trying to get the antenna
more out of sight without any glitching problems. i ran the antenna inside the fuse on most
of my planes but then agian they are wood. now i have 2 plastic tubes in the holes under the
skids. antenna feeds in on left front to the rear,to other side and thru back to the front.antenna
and tube is about 4 inches out in front of canopy. looks better like this range checked close to 100 feet
before it glitched with antenna down.almost scared to check with it running.

I've found that rubber bands only last a short while though.
