Sorry for the problem, the web site is new and I'm still working out the bugs. I'll take care of it.

How will this differ from IRCHA (other than the "International" and "National" part)? Any affiliation, cooperation etc?

Are you guys working with the AMA??

No affiliation with IRCHA and it has yet to be determined where we will go with AMA, I have a dialoge going but not sure what direction we will go. It will mainly be up to the membership.

One thing about this organization is that its BRAND New, alot of things have to be worked out and it will be up to the general membership to decide which way the organization will go.

I have all the paperwork and applications for Non-Profit status and a LLC but alot has to happen before that all takes place.

Right now I would just be happy to get all the bugs worked out of the web site so members actually get the confirmation e-mails, most folks have a ton of spam blockers and such which could cause problems.

Anyway its started, and we can see where it goes.

It's simple html code. Just slide the code into a table where you want it to display. Adjust the javascript call as instructed to change colors. Surely that nuke program allows you to edit the html pages, no??

Craig,

Go back to the page from which you pulled the code initially and scroll to the bottom. There you will see instructions on how to get the colors (text, background etc.) to match up with your site. Also, the code for thumbnails is there too.

One question... WHY?

First off, I do not belong to IRCHA, or any other r/c group besides the AMA; and that only by necessity. So I have no axe to grind one way or another. But I thought IRCHA was the official helicopter SIG????

So, again, why this new organization?

Well its probably due to the fact that some folks believe a National Organization is needed to help promote the Helicopter Hobby. Your question WHY is a loaded question and I could write a 5 or 6 page reply but to sum it up, people want one.

On another note, yes IRCHA is a SIG of the AMA just as anyone can form a group and apply for SIG status. As far as the Official Helicopter group thats your take on it. Take a look at some of the Airplane SIGS, there are sometimes two and three directed at the same format of flying.

There are a lot of folks that would enjoy being part of a large organization, however they dont wish to belong to any that currently exist so why not form up a new one that will offer what the majority of the membership wants.

This is probably clear as Mud....

Thanks for asking

I did a bit of research on a couple of the heli-specific forums; now I know what this is about.

I thought the "Racer38" handle looked familiar.

Well, since you ask... It looks to me like you have an axe to grind with IRCHA, and this (forming a new organization) is the way you have chosen to deal with it. I have a neutral opinion on this sort of thing. The assorted politics of the hobby is one large factor that made me decide to give up my column in MHT some years back. Practically all of the various urination competitions in these areas are more about personality clashes and ego stroking than anything else. The older I get, the less tolerance I have for that BS. So now, I just tend to ignore it.

However, curiousity does get the better of me sometimes. Hence the question...

I hope it works out for you.

This seems like a child's game all the lets get even crap just like those morons over on that RC Helispot all they can do is slam runrider they even have a subform just for that kind of crap,I got into this just to have fun and come to forums to get information about stuff but this get even junk just does not make it in this hobby, why is it we cannot just enjoy this hobby for what it is good clean fun and not the other get even junk???I was a member of IRCHA and AMA but have since dropped both because IRCHA is a joke in the time I was a member all I got was a card and a patch and a website that hardly ever worked and AMA I do not need because I do not fly nitro or large electrics any longer and I do not need a magazine that is 95% about airplanes something that I really do not care about and my Dragonflyer V Ti I can fly in my yard.[&:]

Thanks for the input Steve, but there is no axe grinding going on, I only want to form an organization that will help promote the Hobby in a broader fashion. IRCHA does one thing really well and thats to hold a Jamboree once a year. But that leaves alot of other folks with really nothing else. Multiple sponsored funflys is just one of the aims of NRCHA, also better member support via monthly newsletters and a Great website.

Moe, there is nothing childish going on, I am not retaliating or trying to get even with anyone. I dont hold grudges nor have I ever. I tried to start an organization designed for folks just like you. You werent happy with IRCHA as alot of us, and NRCSHA was started, but after it started to gain momentum I was persuaded to toss in the towel and focus on helping IRCHA. Well you can lead a horse to water but you cant make him drink comes to mind.

Anyway lots of folks have asked that we give NRCHA a try and thats what we are doing, if your not happy with other organizations now is the time to join up with NRCHA and help design the organization into something thats better.

I don't get a website at the above link. All I get is a directory listing.

Yup just checked the site and found that someone managed to get in and deleted the root directory WE WERE HACKED ... I left a security breach point open by not deleting something and they got in.

Should be working now.

Racer38, I have somewhat the same position as Steve, why start new? I noticed on the IRCHA website that the office of President is open for nominations. For years I was the Secretary of IRCHA and the hardest thing was to get local people to step-up and help make IRCHA better. Now you sound like you are ready to jump in and help, and if IRCHA had more guys like you it could be the originaztion that you are talking about. So why don't you run and change IRCHA into a better group. If you do you already would have a member base and a connection with AMA, and if you have to time to start a new group wouldn't it be easier to just fire up an existing group?

Just some thoughts.

Well Bill I tried that route before and ended up with egg on my face, there is alot to be said about helping out an existing organization but I'm afraid there are just too many skeletons in the closet and thier direction hasnt really changed in the last year so I think I'll keep my eggs in my own basket and see what happens. I was pursuaded last time to throw in the towel and I can only wonder where NRCHA would be if we had kept chugging with it almost a year ago.

Anyway Lets see what happens ..

Thanks

Not sure who or why, but the NRCHA web site was hacked the other day! Mainly due to my own stupidity. I left a file in the root directory on my server that allowed someone to wipe out the entire site. Wasnt very pretty but its back up and running and I still need to do some customization but I'll get it back looking good real soon.
