2 things really.
If you ever noticed how much of a bind your swashplate could get in the corners (full right, full back) This prevents it.
Also, For some manuvers like chaos, piro loops, piro tic tocs it will make the cyclic control smoother because you will not be banging into the corners.

Don't be to alarmed guys. Curtis uses one himself. For the exact same reasons as was mentioned by FuryFyer2. I know because I took a good look at his radio at a funfly recently. If it works for him. I am sure it would work for everyone else. 
To bad the one Furyflyer made is not for a JR. Otherwise I might be temptred to get one myself.

Now FF2, make one for my Hitec Eclipse-RD 6000-JR 347's-my 9Z WC2 is coming out today for a test run today. I knew I would love it just so $$ it was my B'day present from my wife so I kep it NIB since Oct.LoL.

cyclic limiter rings
I bought a couple for my 8103's from Mike Fendley. I think it's
a great tool to prevent binding , thus increasing the life of your servo's , etc.
Mike was selling them for $2.50 or so each!

cyclic rings
They are CNC routered out of g-10 (fiberglass). They attach by using double sided sticky tape, not as secure as screwing it down but it doesn't appear to be a problem as long as you use good quality tape.
I did however have to open the ID up though. The stock ID was a little small.
Can't complain for $2.50 :+)

I worked at Owens Corning Fiberglas as an engineer in the composites group. I kind of know about this stuff.
G-10 is made of fiberglass cloth laminated with resin. G-10 and fiberglass board are usually used interchangeable and are the same thing.
G-10 is what is commonly used in circuit boards and when you buy raw fiberglass cloth board it's usually referred to G-10. It's more of a brand thing like a lot of people refer to vacuum cleaners as Hoovers.
