Has anyone tried this flight sim out yet and how does it compare to the ones that cost a couple hundred. this one is very inexpensive.

Well i went ahead and bought the program and had a few problems getting it working with my controller so i emailed there tech suppot and got an instant reply and how to fix the problem. after a few emails back and forth within a few minutes i was up and running. Now thats what i call great customer support. Wished you can get support like that from some of these other companies. I will post on how the program is later tonight as im going to fly now. looks like there is many planes and helis and additional scenery you can download from different sites although the program comes with many. Well im off to have some fun. take care all. here is the web address for the clearview flight sim.

Well I just downloaded it, and it looks nice. However, I guess you can't use a keyboard to control it, you have to have a game controller. Playing with the F1 key, which is throttle hold for heli's (IIRC) produces some wild maneuvers. The flight model doesn't "feel" very realistic.
I have RealFlight G3, and it has an extremely realistic physics model (minus ground effect). I can vouch for it as being well worth the $210.00USD I payed for it.
Edit: Viewed the movie of the Raptor 90 from the website. It looks like a pretty neat package, however it's pretty aparent from watching that video that it is not quite as fluid as G3 is when performing 3d acrobatics. I'd say its a heck of alot better than FMS, so for 30 bucks I think you got your money's worth (and then some). The graphics aren't as good as G3, but I think that you'll learn what you need to from this sim.
I noticed it is java based, I wonder how much of a system resource hog it is.

I remember trying this a while back and couldn't even get the sim to run smoothly. Constant choke ups every few seconds, and I don't have a bad computer by any stretch of the imagination. I've never liked Java based programs, and this game shows exactly why.

Im sure it cant compare to reflex or the others but for 30 bucks it beats the heck out of fms. I have been using it for the last hour and havent had any problems so maybe the latest build is more stable then the previous ones. The basic thing to remember here is it is here to teach basic flight skills and god knows i need that before i try to fly my OMP tornado. when i move up to a raptor then i will go for the more expensive flight sims as money is tight before the holidays. Thanks for all the replys and keep them coming. I will let you all know how my skills come out over the next few weeks. take care all.

There was a problem with ATI driver that is fixed now. Try again. The new version [link=http://rcflightsim.com]4.18[/link] is just released and you can import any FMS model in addition to many model that come standard.

Is there any new comments from users of the Clearview Sim?
I am considering getting it, to play with, in order to get started on the basics of RC Heli flying, before deciding if I want to get an RC heli at all.
