Hi to all,
I want to know what is the payload of a Raptor 30 ?
I want to mount a on-board video system on and i want to know if it will overcharge the bird.
How many pound i can add to the original configuration ?
Someone already flight a Raptor 30 with a on-board Video system ?

I dont know exact weight, but i would bet its more than enough, i have seen a raptor with a rather extensive (2 video cams, 1 still cam) setup and it flew ok...wont do anything crazy like aerobatics, but it didnt seem to have a problem lifting it.

I would shoot for less then 3 lbs myself but it "probably" could lift maybe 5 or 6 ??? Type of blades, pitch, and thottle setting will vary the amount. I put 5 lbs on my Raptor 60 and it was like flying a dump truck. Of course 8 lbs on my gasser was "noticable".
Getting a light small camera would be the best bet. Something like this is perfect. I am no fan of wireless but have seen some good ones.
Heck... I have seen a mini DV camcorders zip-tied to a 50 with good results!!!

I would really watch the weight. You might be able to lift off the ground with 4 or 5 pounds, but if the clutch starts to slip, that thing will drop like a rock. The clutch will heat up and do nothing. IMO.

My old 30 would lift 2 1/2 pounds, but you could sure tell it was on there, I wouldn't want to try anything fancy. It would start getting a little hot after about 3/4 of a tank of fuel, nothing serious, but you could tell it was getting hot.
