Default 401 Voltage

I just got a new raptor that I am building - I have hitec digitals for it and a 401 for the gyro. I have always heard that it is bad mojo to go over 4.8 volts on the Gyro. I read on tower's site that it can handle up to 6 volts. Anyone run 6 volts without issues? I was going to go with a bigger battery and regulate it.. but the regulator I wanted to use only goes down to 5.5.

Default RE: 401 Voltage

5.5 Will be fine, its the servo that won't take the higher voltages, some guys run up to 6v regulated without problems but I run 5.1, why induce the wear on the servo for something most fliers won't be able to tell the difference with the higher voltages. Anything under 6v regulated should be ok for the servo and gyro.
