Default Is there something wrong with this servo?

Hi

I recently bought 4 9202, GY 401 + 9253.

I connected my receviver to the gyro and servos on my table. The servos are not connected to any load. I was trying to see if all servos are working properly.

3 9202 servos and the 9253 servo were fine. There was something odd in the 4th 9202 servo.

I turned my Tx on and then my Rx on (9CHP + RD149). Immediately after the Rx was on, the 4th servo began making a sound as if its engine is working. The servo arm was not moving but the servo was shaking. After 2 seconds or so the servo was quiet again. The servo was connected to the throttle servo. When I move the throttle stick up the servo arm moved but the servo was making noise and shaking about two seconds after I stick movement was done.

I tried the same when this servo was connected to the elevator channel with the same results.

Is there something wrong with this servo?

Thanks,
Shanti

That is completely normal Digital servos are noisy because they are always trying to keep center. The 9202 should not make noise.

The 9202 is not a digital servo. If it was run on throttle, it could have a dirty pot, the vibration from the engine causes this.
Send it in and have it checked out.

The Pot (potentiometer - it's a variable resistor like the volume control on your car radio.) on the servo that jitters is bad or has a dirty contact. Send it back to whoever your bought it from for replacement or repair. I assume you bought them recently and they are new. If you bought them used there is little you can do except have it repaired. (Pot will probably have to be replaced.)
