hey guys, i was browsin around and i came accross FMA's co-pilot flight stab. system, which when you let go of the stick, returns it to level flight. it works on the same principal as the dragonflyer Ti, with the thermal sensing system (uses horizon as reference). thing is, such a system is useless indoors. so are there any other flight stabilization systems that work indoors?
Thanks -Matt

So far, there isn't anything available to fly indoors. And anything that could fly with the extra weight is probably too big to fly indoors anyway. At least safely.
BTW most people tend to shy away from the FMA systems. A search on RR would yeild answers in that regard.

ya... horzion sensors suck unless your above any obstacles (not realistic where i am located)
but, i have come accross the 'Helicommand' by Robbe. the system uses an optical sensor pointed down to maintain position (think of it like an opical mouse. it uses the texture to sense movement, but compensates for it so the texture moves as little as possibe) the system will work as long as there is enough light and contrast (like in pitch black you cant see a thing, so it wont pick it up) it works almost anywhere though, probably not at night tho (it wont work on water or extremely textureless surfaces). also it wont work over 3 meters. theres a pro version available, but for about 6 times the price, the pro (at like 3000 euroes) gives you 10 m, but whether its worth it or not is a personal and financial decision. and yes it will work indoors. it has 2 modes. the optical mode described above, and some sort of intertial sensing mode. dont know how that works though.
anyway theres a video here: http://www.robbe.com/video.php/de_pl...ile=1-8493.wmv
im pretty interested the hobby model is 500 bucks (might be 500 euro... but i think it was dollars...)
its substantialy more expensive then the FMA... but i like it alot more -Matt
