I just installed a GV-1 governor in my Caliber 30 and overall it works well. I have three speed setting set in it at 1500, 1600 and 1700 rpm. At 1600 and 1700 rpm when it is at full throttle, the throttle servo starts to oscillates quite badly. I tested it on a test stand and also in forward flight. It is quite noticeable and I'm not quite sure what is causing it. I have been told that the GV-1 needs a fast servo on the throttle. I am just using a futaba 148 servo that is not very fast. Could this be my problem or something else.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Dazzler
Yes I did set the initial throttle settings and the throws don't seem to be a problem, but I think I will initialize them again it sure can't hurt.
Thanks for your response

Just to add to the servo question, - Daz is right about the 148 being fine for the gv-1, I have installed fut9402 just to see what difference it would make and it did none! at least I didn't notice anything. Oh and BTW, rich engine will cause the governor to surge, I am in process of braking-in a new engine and my governor is doing about the same thing as you described. Oh and one more thing, make sure your idle settings are not to high, I've had mine set wrong and governor had a really hard time doing it's job, it also caused a little oscillation. Good Luck!

Thank you all very much, problem solved.
I leaned the engine out about a 1/8th turn and the problem went away. I can't believe how a slightly rich mixture could make such a difference but it did. Again thanks
Now to the flying field, light show falling 35 Degrees and no wind. what more could you ask for.
