okay, i recently got my first helicopter. a colco thunderbird. mabye not the best... but i figured it was alright because it was durable. i havent even crashed it and its broken!
okay, so today i felt like taking her for a good fligh (the second one, i went on a trip right after i got it, and came back today). so im starting up the motor. i reach about 80% up the throttle, yet its making about as much power as it does at 20%. after pushing up a bit more, the motor dies out. i still have servo control, but the motor wont run. i put the throttle stick back to zero for a second, then throttle back up, but this time it cuts out at like 70%. i kept doing this till it ould barely move, and cut out. servos still fine. i figured it was a low battery.
so i charge it up, and try again. but its still cutting out, and real low too! so after a few more tries, here what happens. i cant start the rotor AT ALL. i cant even move the servos anymore. my reciever is blinking the 'gain' light. not covered in my manual, so i adjusted the gain AND 'setup' screws on my serv (by the way, what does that setup one do anyway?'. still, nothing. i try plugging the battery in and out, i checked my transmitter voltage status, turned the tx off and on again. still, absolutely no response from the helicopter!!
what is going on!?

I check that the battery is good to start with. The try unplugging the motor from the ESC and see if the radi system works. Basically you're gonna have to isolate each piece until you find the fault.

ive unplugged everything from the reciever one by one and kept trying,
this is my first experience with anything electric. i dont like it... nitro was so much easier

Thought that if it were collective, maybe your pitch was set to high ... still might be the case with fixed pitch.
Pitch = load on motor. The more pitch, the more work the motor has to do. If pitch is too high, motor might bog down.
Good Luck,
