I think this crash was totally avoidable.
I've been flying RC helis for only 2 month. I was practicing some forward flight and high hovers. My hovering skill is very good now and I already fly without the training gear.
But this time I saw a red light flashing on the bottom of the helicopter when I was doing a high hover. I didn't know what it was so I tried to land it immediately. I was so anxious to land it I didn't even bring it close to me. I just tried to land it far away when I couldn't even see it clearly. Well, I thought I saw the helicopter was level sideways so I thought it was safe to land. But as soon as I touched down there was some kind of explosion-like crash.
I learned my lesson. Next time, I will always like helicopters where I can see it clearly.
The helicopter is a raptor V1 50. I looked at the wreckage and it seems the engine is fine and all the electronics are fine. The main shaft look okay and rotates fine. The blades are obviously damaged but I have a spare set of blades (from the previous owner of the heli). The tail rotor mechanics are fine too.
However, the flybar is destroyed, and so is the tail boom, main frame (cracked where the boom attaches), and some broke linkages (2 or 3).
How much would it cost to fix approx?
Thanks

could you post a pic of the crack?
it sounds structural, and if it is a v1 r50, i dont know you can buy the v1 frames anymore.
i just crashed my v1 30 and i broke the frames, luckily i had a spare pair, but after the next crash it will likely be trashed or upgraded to a v2.
look for a raptor 50v2 crash kit. it will have blades, boom, head, flybar etc...
only thing is, being a v2 crash kit, the spindle will be for a v2, so you will not be able to use it.
id estimate, if you can get frames, around 60-80. (frames being about 30). if you cant get frames, id go with a v2 conversion kit. it will provide you with quite a few spare parts. you will still need the boom and flybar if you do that though.

Heliproz still has the V1 frame for 25 bucks
Should I just fix my v1 or should I upgrade to v2?
I'm guess v1 would be significantly cheaper
