No problem, one thing I would do when you get the engine is to leave the carb off, and remove the head and backplate, and inspect the engine very well for any metal fragments, after inspecting if you have access to an air compressor blow it out real good, and you will be ready to go, you'll love the engine.
You may already know this but:
Put all parts back in the exact position you removed them, mark the front of the head b4 removing and put it back on the same way, same with backplate. There is a metal gasket under the head, it should stay in just watch for it, and the gasket behind the backplate, dont break that, just be careful when you disassemble and you wont have any problems. From what I have seen this is probably the best option for 30 sized machines.
It almost feels like you slipped a 50 into the machine.
Pretty good option to step up into more power without breaking the bank or doing any mods or upgrades to your 30 sized machine.
Augusto.

Hi All,
First timer here.
Dazzler, the problem with the metal fragments, is that just in the engines bought separately, or all of them. I picked
up my new Raptor V 2.0 two days ago and it has the Pro 39H(R) engine.
Also, what is the break-in procedure? Should I only run full tanks of fuel through it? I imagine that is it similar to
most internal combustion engines. I live in the cold north (5 below zero today) is it wise to break-in at that cold a
temp, or wait till it warms up?

Hullheli, personally I would do the same with the Arf Version engines, all they do is install the same eingine that is purchased seperately, just for that peace of mind factor I would certainly clean it out. As far as the break in, set your high end needle to 3 1/2 turns out start it there, and try to get about a 1/2 gallon through at that setting, and then go to 3 1/4 turns and go through the other 1/2, after the 1st gallon I would go to 3 turns out, and run it there through another gallon, then adjust from there, the tt39 doesnt like too much past 2 3/4 turns out, you may be able to get to 2 1/2 depending on fuel used, and location. I would run a good fuel like Wildcat 20/18. As far as the weather I dont think it will care about the cold temps. Daz...

I got it today!! And all the way from Hawaii! $85 for the engine ,and $18 for 2nd day air, and all in to days! Damn that's fast! And $85 for a TT .39. That is dirt cheep!! HeliHut gets 2 thumbs up from me. Tower Hobbies should take some lessons. My last order (from Tower) took 5 days, just for them to get around to shipping it. It's still not here yet! Thanks for the tip Daz!

No problem Green River rc, I also stopped using Tower quite awhile ago after my order sat in processing for 4 days, I will only order something from them if I see something in Scratch & Dent that interests me. Be sure to post your thoughts on the engine once you get it going, Enjoy!!! Daz...

I got my TT39 this month and have ran it about 4 tanks. This engine is very strong even when ran rich with 15% I put it in my Quick 30 Pro and this thing is awesome. I have always used OS 32's on my heli's, but after using the TT39 I sold all my OS engines. I have another TT39 on the way right now. Best power upgrade without the hassle and price of changing to a 46/50.

Hey Dazzler,
Followed instructions for cleaning out fragments, and I found three small ones that I could see. Who knows how many got blown out.
Thanks for the tip.
Do you know of a good site for heli/radio setup instructions? Got to be in plain english and for a total heli dummy. There is a very steep learning curve for these machines.
Thanks again.
GY401/9253 on the way.

Hey guys! You're not going to believe what happened. I was putting the new .39 in my Raptor, and something fell off of it. I first thought it was a piece black plastic from the frame of the chopper, but a closer look told me it was metal and it was a piece of the ring!(about 1/4" long) I couldn't tell if a piece of the ring was actually missing, but when turning it over by hand, I noticed it would snag a bit about 1/2 way up. I stuck the damn thing back it the box and I have it ready to go back it Ace on Tuesday. I'm sure this is a good engine, because everyone seems to like it. Shavings in the engine, and broken rings don't sound good to me, but I'm going to give it a fair chance. I hope Ace pulls through for me on this one. I'll let you know! David

Now thats a new one, havent heard of that one b4. Ace will take care of it for you, just send it in, you should have it back in a week or so, because they just recieved the parts for these engines in. The ring must not have been installed properly, that really sucks, but Gabriel at Ace is good, I would email them also from their website. I had to send my 1st one back because of the metal fragments scoring my liner, and he was very helpful. Let us know how it goes, Daz...

Ok, So should a guy pull the piston to make sure my ring is not cracked?
Do the run these engines in at all
? Would you have to worry about screwing up the ring seating after it has run?

Hullheli, I dont think you have to worry about that, apparently green river turned his over by hand and felt something was wrong, so if you dont feel to much resistance turning it over by hand I dont think you have anything to worry about, that was a 1st timer there. Daz...
