Default What do you guys think of this heli?

I am really wanting a nitro heli, and have looked into thr Raptor 30, the JR Venture 30, and this one. So I am just wondering what you guys think. They say it has interchangable parts with the raptor, and it is like $100 cheaper. LMK what you guys think!

I've heard reports of sub par quality parts from them. It is mostly Raptor compatable but some of the Raptor guys that have tried thier parts havent been to happy. My friend had a 90 and based on what I saw of it, I wouldn't personally own one.

That being said the 50 got a pretty good review in the last issue of Model Helicopter Technique by a pilot whose opinion I trust so theres opinions on both sides of the fence.

I've learned after being in this hobby a while though, you tend to get what you pay for.

Ok thanks. Do you think that the 50 would be better to get then?

Also, I am trying to figure out a final cost, and the price of the GY401 and servo combo is killing me! Is there any cheaper gyros and servos combos that work well?

185 from Ricks, you wont find a better combo in that price range.

Hi MT RC

i can't comment on the heli that you list (i don't have extensive experience with heli)
but i can give 100% reccomendation for the raptor. i bought my first proppa heli about a month ago(a raptor 50 with OS.50). for the flights i have had on this heli i can't flaw it at all and that was bought second hand.

i hope the above is of help

Ricks is http://www.ronlund.com or Heliproz http://www.heliproz.com

In either case you have to call or follow the directions on the web site to get the actual pricing but I can tell you its 184 or so at Ricks. They are the best mail order houses in the business when it comes to strictly helicopter stuff, all the staff that picks up the phone at Heliproz flys, you dont get the 15 year old kid that just plays with rc cars and works there on the weekends to pay for his tires.

Ricks is the same way, ask for or dial up Nathan and he will take good care of you.
