Servo differences and requirements
Hello, new Raptor 30 V2 owner here....this is my first nitro heli (been flying small electrics) and I have a few questions regarding servos. First of all, I realize the torque specs on the servos in question are a bit overkill, but I like having plenty of reserve.
1) How much difference will your really see between the upper-end Futaba servos in the $80 to $110 range (in particular, the S9250 ($100), S9252 ($80), and S9451 ($80))
Are these on a pretty even keel when it comes to accuracy, repeatibility, and zeroing?
2) Is it really worth spending $100 on the S9250 over $80 S9252 or S9451? It starts to add up when you have to buy four or five servos....
3) Alternatively, how about the S3050 with it's slightly slower speed of .20s/60deg? This one is about 1/2 the cost at $50....
Thanks for your time.

RE: Servo differences and requirements
i fly 3010s in mine. Work fine for me. No hardcore 3d, but they are cheap (relatively) and work. I just changed over and gave them 6V and they are pretty damned good.

RE: Servo differences and requirements
For a Raptor 30 you'd be wasting your money on 100 dollar servos, even the 9252's would be over kill. Good servos are nice, they center consistently, in a helicopter that means you arent chasing the trims all the time to get a stable hover.
Also check around, Ricks http://www.ronlund.com and Heliproz http://www.heliproz.com sell Futaba stuff for less than they advertise but you have to call them or email them, for example the going price for 9252's is 69
