Default 8103 to a 10X????????

I think I am going to order a 10X this week, but I have a question before I do. Not that the answer will sway my decision. I am already flying with an 8103. And I do like it quite a bit. But tax refund money, and a go ahead from the woman of the house, allows me to get the 10 if I want it. But in a desprate atempt to keep myself from having to completely re-program the 5 helis I have into the new radio. I was wondering, can I simply use a datasafe cord to download my programing? And then transfer the programing to the 10? Also has anyone figured out how to get one to hang on a strap straight and level? Any suggestions would be great. I would like to make the transition as easy as possable.

I am looking forward to giving the 10X a try. It looks to be a sweet radio.

I believe you can transfer data from the 8103 to the 10x but not the other way..

I strongly doubt you can transfer the 8103
info to the 10X. You cannot even transfer
from the 8103 non-DT to the DT version.

Have you considered waiting for the 9X or
exactly what features the 10X has that the
8103 doesn't that you feel you need?

Didn't Horizon state that they WERE NOT going to import an 9x radios into the US? (jerks)

You might be able to use the JR Datasafe accessory to export your 8103 information and then try and upload it to the 10x.

You could always e-mail Horizon and ask them if it would work..

Default 8103 to a 10X????????

I don't think that "needs" has realy anything to do with it. Every once and a while I get an oportunity to buy a heli goodie without touching my current finances. And this is one of those times. Its kind of an "if I want it. I can have it" situation. One of the things I would like to be able to do is fly my Vigor CS in 140 CCPM mode without having to use the mixes in my 8103 to do it. I know that is not that big of a deal. But I would still like to do it. In retrospect, one could say "why do you need 5 helis?" I realy don't. But each one I wanted, so I bought them at those "open purchase" times. And I love them all. But for now I am not wanting to get another heli, so I thought I would upgrade my radio. I already have a Fury Expert, Vigor CS, Raptor 30 V1, Raptor 50V2, and a Vario Kobold with a Eurocopter Tiger fuse. So I think I have the heli department pretty much covered. Anyway, that is why I want to upgrade my radio. Because I can at this time, without makeing any waves. Make sense?

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I think I will e-mail Horizon just for giggles. I will let you know what they say.

Default 10x and datasfe

No, you cannot transfer any data from any other radio except for one of the same. I just spoke to Horizon today.
I actually just sold my 10x Air and 7U heli and bought an 8103Heli
The touch screen was nice and I liked it but it was a little heavy and costly and since I could not buy another for Helis as they only have programming for plane or helis and I will definitely prefer owning just one radio. My first RC crash took my only Futaba receiver with it and all of my planes were on JR so it seemed to be a good idea.
I did however debate all winter between a 9CHP and 8103.

I have both 8103 and 10X and can confirm that you CANNOT transfer between them even if you transfer from DataSafe to PC and back. Sorry.

Yeah I have figured that out. I just got an E-mail from Horizon, and that was indeed confirmed. But they did say something in the E-mail that some of you guys might just find interesting. It is in reguard to the 9X. Check it out.

"There are no plans to discontinue the 10x transmitter at this time.
The datasafe will not transfer information from an 8103 to a 10x, the
transmitters have to be exactly alike in order to do this.(8103 to 8103, 10x
air to 10x air, ect). We have very little information about the 9x at this
time. We will not be offering that same transmitter here in the states, we
will take that model and modify it to fit the needs of the american
consumer, which will take some time to complete, we have not begun this
process as of yet. Sorry this wasn't much help. "
