Default OS 37 performance

Hi all,

I have a new OS 37 for my kyosho caliber 30 and i'm wondering how much i should be expecting from it. Am running +8 to -8 deg of pitch and using magnum 12% fuel with a standard kyosho muffler.

Things start to struggle at about +7 deg of pitch - is this normal for an OS 37.

If anyone's got an OS 37 then let me know how much power you can get out of it - what's your pitch/throttle curve like and how many turns do you have on the main needle? what muffler do you have and what pipe?

a standard kyosho muffler.
Thats most of your problem right there, get a bigger muffler. That is way too restrictive, the 37 needs to breathe.

To answer your question I ran +- 11 on a shuttle with 550 glass blades and a Heliproz Maverikk muffler and it didnt bog.

The Hatori is the best but there's some others that will do the job. SB6A I think is the part number.

mgossa...Cuda is right. The OS37 needs to breathe. I have the OS37 in R30v2 with a Hatori SAB 6RS and guys at my local thinks its a OS50. I had a restrictive pipe at first, but whn put the Hatori on it all I could say was oh my God. Let that puppy breathe and be happy.

thanks guys!!

heliTB - what's your max/min on your pitch curve and when do things start to bog?

Both of you: what are your needle settings with the Hatori pipe?

I have a hatori pipe in the post but it has a different model number to sab 6rs but it looks the same in the pictures - are they actually the same - (mine's a Hatori 415 for OS37/caliber 30)

+/-11 is wicked!! I can't wait till i get my pipe! Things are struggling in FFF let alone stall turns etc.......

Hi- I have been thinking about buying a 37 for a tired old(complete with servos) raptor 30 V1 I have on the shelf. Is the case size the same as the OS 30? The V1 frames are narrower than the V2. I can see that to go with a OS50 will require new frames, mounts, probably a new clutch, longer blades, belt, and boom, etc and then I will still have an old ,converted V1. I have a ton of V1 parts and could probably keep it flying FOREVER. I was told by a guy I met--- that the raptor 30 is fantastic with the 37. I would sure like to just "bolt it in" and GO!!! thanks ScottP
