i am running a futaba 401 gyro and a s9254 digital servo. the instruction that came with the servo said to only use nicd's with this servo. has anyone used different, or know why only nicd's[8D]

That warning originated when NiMH had high internal resistence, as the load goes up (current, digitals use a lot) the voltage drops under load and the gyro resets.

Modern NiMH cells, of sufficent quality and capacity have no problems.

I use NiMH and Li-ion with mine and have no problem.
