My Feedback: (226)
Never thought that I would ever fly a turbine chopper but two weekends ago a friend I flew choppers with asked me if I would test fly his TURBINE CHOPPER:stupid: You know I said yes
He explained the operating system and went over everything, I hit the switch and advanced the throttle, it fired
right up, too cool.
I got her in a hover, very smooth but the controls were very soft, ended up just hovering and moving her around a bit for two tanks. I told him to increase the throws as it took to much stick movement to get the chopper to respond.
This past Sunday he asked me to try her again
told me he increased the throws.
She felt alt better but still felt soft, I ventured out a bit but decided to keep her in close
The pucker factor would be bad enough if she was mine but just wanted to get a better feel for the flying characteristic's
We took her up again and another buddy asked to check her out, he got into a hover and wandered out across the field and set her down , handed me the box back
Were going to increase the throws some more to See if we can get her to be a little more responsive. With the low head speed she seems sluggish, anyone with flight time on a turbine chopper have any input or advise it would be appreciated
I gave up flying choppers years ago but man was that neat, Might have to give up some of my jets to get one
Never thought I'd even think about getting another chopper. I now have a Rappy to get some stick time on a chopper. Her we go again
Just wanted to mention, It seems like you really have to be on the ball and anticipate what shes going to do, flys a little heavy but doesn't seem to lack power !!

If it's a PHT-3 or HP-5, the thottle should be at full all time you are flying.
Most people put the throttle on a knob. Use the knob for the start up and shut down sequences. When you're ready to fly, use the knob to spool up to full throttle and leave it there.
