Up until today I was only going to choose between two, now we have three? I need to get out more. Now as with any plane, its only as good as what you put in it. So since these can come in kit form, if we take away the engine, ESC, batteries, Gyro and al the rest of it, How do these three measure up barebones. Are parts or aftermarket items interchangable to an extent? I'm going to get one of these things as soon as al these choices stop popping up

I can't say much for most of em, I have played with an mx 400 and for the price etc it's not too bad.
The T-rex comes in many versions, has an excellent following on parts and support, and has been around long enough to be a seasoned vet for the mini helis. You probably can't go wrong here, Barracudahockey just did a review on it (you can find it on this site) that is full of good info.
The rc-tek stuff I couldn't tell you anything more than whats in the newest rc heli mag. The just had an article on it. Looks like a t-rex clone. Probably performs similar but if I remember right, they had some negative things to say about it in the performance review that would probably make me stay away. I believe they talked about head bogging during 3d, motor/esc getting too hot.
You didn't mention the Mini Titan and I think it should be included in your options. For 200 bucks you get the heli kit with motor and esc. Add your radio gear/gyro etc and you are good to go with a very solid heli.
I bought one and have yet to question that decision. Well worth the investment. Everything has performed flawlessly up to this point, about 15 flights on it at this point. I think for the price, repairability, parts cost, you really can't go wrong here.
It doesn't have all the flashy metal and CF of the 450se but it doesn't really need it either.

Mini Titan? Thanks alot! My LHS has been around for many years and I have never had any problems. They did sell it recently and everything still remains the same. The former owner has also stayed on part time as an "advisor" and shows up a couple times a week. I never really paid attention to the helic stuff but did notice they a darn near full line of parts for the T-Rex and Eflite and building up on the Helimax. Did not notice the RC Tek. I'm going to go back by this morning and just see how extensive the supply of it all is and maybe make a decision this way. Getting parts only through mail order would be a PITA.
When I stuffed the AXE last week, I was in and out with what I needed as a New Boom and T/R engine mount. (Got off easy that time)

I had a MX400 and a Trex XL, when the Trex 450se V2 came out I bought one of those. I liked that so much I sold the MX400 and the Trex XL and bought a second V2. I thought the MX was O.K. but I liked the Trex better. I thought the quality of the Trex was better and easier to work on. I haven't owed a Mini Titan but from what I've seen and heard it would also be a good choice.

I just came back from the LHS. They sell the the Eflight, AXE and Align T-rex. They could order anything of course but seem to cater to tthe T-rex first, then Eflite so it looks like a no brainer here. Pluse I now know what comes with what. So it's off for the best deal.
