Default pull start

Here is a question I have been "pondering" for some time, I have a thunder tiger 46 in a hirobo lama and I am tired of pulling the engine out replacing one way bearings ( eventually the screws holding the engine plate in the frame ar going to strip out) I was wondering if a pull start would work. The four bolts in the crankcase are below the mounting plate...

Default pull start

I just recently rebuilt 2 shuttles with the OS32F w/ pull-start.

I ended up scratching up my knuckles on the concrete (oooowwww!) so I gave up on using pull starts exclusively.

If I am in the pits, I start it with a starter, if it engine quits while I'm on the runway, I use the pullstart (with care).

Default Pull Start

I also have scratched knuckles from using a pull start OS32SX in my Shuttle. Originally, I installed the pulls start because my old Shuttle did not have a top start and used the old belt around the clutch bell. I still had to use the belt start for the first start of the day because I got tired trying to start the cold engine. Once its had its first flight of the day, the engine is warm and fuel is flowing all the way to carb, you can use the pull start easily.

FORGET IT! I have a thunder tiger 46 with no shaft on the bottom for a pull start. I am so frustrated with this one way bearing ussue I put a reserve tank on this weekend and I burned up another bearing trying to get it started!! I just got done tweeking my controls putting more expo into my radio and putting on a new remote plug. I was so exited to get my machine up to no evail.
