Hey, Just got a raptor 30, have two questions, or maybe three.
1.) How does the fuel pump work and also i got a like extra SMALL tank, what is that for.
2.) When I go to start it, Won't the blades hit the starter or the blades don't spin with throttle all the way down? Or you should hold them anyway.....
3.) I can't seem to get the tail linkage setup correctly, as if it is too short, or maybe i am doing something wrong.
If anyone could hep me it would be helpful
P.S. I want to pick up some cool power 30%. Is that good or too much percent of nitro and also is the helicopter version and airplane version both the same? I heard that all they do is slap a sticker on the HELI fuel and charge more. LMK thanks

j13ntv; Hi! In order:
(1) The small tank is called a header tank and is sometimes used to give longer flight times,or move the tank back to where you can see you fuel level and some people use them to help when they start flying the helo inverted, this "header tank" will (if plumbed properly) stay full of fuel no matter how hard you throw the helo around!
(2) The clutch system on you helo is like a mini bike clutch...the engine starts and idles too slow (if the throttle is set correctly) to turn the main rotor..never the less you must ALWAYS hold the main rotor by the blade grips while starting the helo! Remember...this is NOT an OSHA approved devise!
(3) There are too many things that might be wrong...some more info would help.
(P.S.) Without knowing if the engine is broken in on something else ( I'm assuming this is a previously owned bird (?) ) and other things like the type of muffler it would be hard to say what fuel to run...however, 30% nitro is very expensive to run if you are just learning to hover and fly around...15% will give you all the power you need , however, as I said, if the engine is "used" to 30% this might present some tuning problems...some more info, please!
If you are a new heli pilot, I would suggest getting a Ray's Helicopter Manual from Rick's it has ALL the answers in an easy to understand format...also the Pilot Locater may help you get hand's on help which makes the learning curve less steep and more fun! Rick's website is www.ronlund.com (I hope that wasn't against the forum rules). Have fun and keep posting, Chris

Hi and welcome to the heli sport!
maxx answered all the questions perfectly. So I won't answer them again.
PLEASE DO NOT attempt to fly until you figured out the basics! PLEASE DO NOT fly in your backyard! Heli is a lot of fun, but also very dangerous. I highly recommend to find someone to help you get started (where did you buy the heli?) post you more exact location (what city?) and I am sure if someone on these boards lives close by, they are sure happy to help.
Nothing can be more frustrating (and expensive) than trying to learn to fly with a bad setup and no help.

j13ntv, I just looked at the pilot locator on Ricks web site...it looks like you're surrounded by help in NY! Again, a Ray's Manual will help you a lot but personal assistance is the very BEST way! Have fun... Chris
