Default Next step for heli noob

Now that I can fly my coaxial Axe EZ(all orientations), I think I am ready to step up to the next level. I am thinking about an electric CCP. I dont want to spend the $$ for a fixed pitch only to want to upgrade to a CCP in a month. There are a few ive been looking at like the Blade CP, Axe CP, Belt CP etc. What would be a good next move. I dont really have the funds to spend $500+ and was looking in the range of $300. I dont mind used, but I will need a TX for it. Any suggestions? I am leaning towards the Heli-Max products for the main reason that my LHS stocks parts and is less than 5 Miles from my house. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! I am looking for something that can handle a little wind also. Im not talking a 10-15 MPH wind but at least handle a breeze without ending up in a tree, on my roof, upside down in the road etc. (Bad stories!)

Don't like either the axe cp or blade cp, both have tail motors which tend to burn out due to their small size. The belt cp is also a 450 size heli so it's going to be 25% bigger than either the axe or blade and it has a belt driven tail, comes stock with brushless motor/esc and lipo as well.

Look at the specs on them all and decide. I had the blade cp and sold it as fast as I could after getting the honey bee king2.

So should I be looking at this?

The price is well within my budget (leaves room for spare parts), the shipping is CHEAP and I have heard nothing but good about the folks at KA-Planes. Is there anything I would need that doesnt come with the kit? What spare parts would you recommend (eg. Blades, tail rotor, landing gear, etc.). I just finished putting the 10th or 11th battery through my Axe EZ and the breeze is killing me.

BTW, the king 2 costs less than my Axe including shipping (axe was $180+ local and the king 2 is $159 shipped!!!!)

well, the king2 is out of stock there right now.... but it's a good option. unfortunately the stock motor sucks and has to be replaced with a brushless set up so you're looking more at $200. for the price, i'd get the larger belt cp.

Ok I was going by you saying you sold your Belt CP when you got your King 2. This look good?

Im also going to watch the classified section. From what I've read, the bigger heli's can take the wind better than the smaller ones so maybe the Belt is a better option. The main reason the wind bothers me is that flying indoors is getting a bit boring in my 15 X 15 livingroom. I still enjoy it but Im ready for more freedom (it has taught me to control the heli better though). For the last two weeks there has just been a very slight breeze (less than 5 MPH) around here but its enough to make the coaxial a handfull.

KA-Planes has the white King2 in stock. Just not the yellow one.

Let's be a little more clear, I sold my E-Flite BLADE CP when i first got my king2 not my E-Sky BELT CP (although I did just recently sell the belt cp).

I still consider the belt cp a better deal and heli, it's bigger, more stable and comes brushless.

Thanks Druss!!

I misread your post (all of the names start to sound the same!) I am definatly going to look into getting the BELT-CP. I finally broke something other than skids today on my Axe (both blade grips) but this hobby is getting WAY to addictive so im headed to the LHS for more tomorrow. Next stop CCP and a sim (I cant afford to smash a bigger heli too many times!).

BTW: Its hard to correct hitting a pine branch at 20+ feet up!!! Especially in a slight breeze with a coax. The wind was calm untill the 10 mph gust came through and pushed the heli into the branch before I could bring it down!
