Do I need A radio with mixing options on it ? or can I use a standard 6ch digital radio and mix mechanically? If so will this work on a hawk 30??????????????????????

It is possible to do it with a radio like that, but you'll need some pretty advanced mixing capability.
The hawk CAN be flown with an airplane radio. BUT, do yourself a favor and get an actual heli radio. It will make your life much easier!

Get a heli radio a Futaba 9CHP is a good one. I have one and love it. Sounds like you have a tight buget, save your money and get the best you can afford. You will spend more money on crash parts trying to fly with a old 6ch radio.
