Default 2.4 wireless camera/ receiver question.

I had bought a small wireless camera,(the tiny ones that sell at the hobbyshops about 3/4 cube size,) and it came with a wireless receiver, ipod style, with screen and recorder in it with an sd card.

My camera is busted now and I was wondering if i were to buy another camera, not necessarily the same one, but 2.4, is there a way I can make it bind to that receiver ?

The one I had, had an option of 4 channels to choose for broadcast/reception, but any of you guys, good with electronics, know of a way to make a new one work with another receiver ?

I have no use for the receiver alone, and it's a shame to be waisted.

BTW, in case anyone suggests, I prefer to get a better camera this time and not the same small one.

Servocity has a good one but would have liked to save the receiver money since that one does not offer recording, but you need another external recorder with you like a camera.

If you look on ebay there are tons of just cameras. The issue with getting a better camera is typically weight. It's not just a matter of whether you can lift it but also how much does it affect flight?

I have 3 different cameras, the first is like yours, the second is flycam1 and the last is a small 3in1 w/ onboard memory. I typically prefer the last two as there are no interference problems and the picture is better.

Druus, weight is not my concern, It will go on the 600 or the sceadu, but what do you do for the receiver ?

Mine was incorporated to the recorder, with the same signal from the camera. That is why I would like to be able to bind that new camera to that. It will show picture on the field and record at the same time without external recorder needed.

Any pics or links to your 2 cameras BTW ?

Most of the wireless cameras all use the same 4 channels so any camera should work with any other receiver as long as the frequency is the same.

My other two cameras don't have receivers, they aren't wireless. They record on board then I just plug them into a computer, sure it's not as cool as being able to see it right then but since I can't watch it and fly at the same time that doesn't bother me. Believe me, the picture is MUCH better than with wireless.

just do a search for flycam1 to find the first and for 3 in 1 camera for the second.
