I bought a new Falcon 3d today and took it out back to practice hovering but my attempts failed due to an uncontrolable spinning of the helicopter. When i press up on my controller my entire helicopter starts spinning rapidly and doesnt even begin to rise off the ground. Whats wrong with it? All help is much appreciated.

NOOB, have you ever flown RC any thing befor?
If not look at the transmitter below and to the inside of each stick there's a little button-like slider, this is called a trim button. These should be centerd in each slot BEFOR you turn on the transmitter or the helicopter.
I have to assume that you are flying with the rudder function on the left stick and the aileron function on the right.
With the trims centered, turn on the transmitter, then the helicopter. As you raise the throttle lever SLOWLY watch which way the nose of the helicopter wants to turn. If the nose starts to turn to the right then pull the throttle down to stop the rotor and then move the trim button under the left stick to the LEFTone or two clicks. Push the throttle stick up slowly again and watch what happens. If the nose is still moving right, then add some more LEFT trim to the left stick. If everything is normal then at some point between centered and full left the nose of your heli should stop turning to the right. The only possible big problem you might have, if the heli is turning FASTER to the right as you add left trim then the rudder input from the transmitter is reversed. Get out the book, and see which of the chanel reversing switches on the front of the transmitter has to go the other way.
These may help

The gyro could also be reversed. If you have anyone that flys helos close that could look it over find them, even if you have to drive a couple hours, it'll be time and money well spent to have an experienced person look it over and if possible do a trim flight.

Noob read the instructions as they will tell you which way everything moves and it should also tell you how to reverse the switch for the gyro also i would highly recommend a flight sim as they are invaluable as a tool to keep you from spending your way out of the hobby this isn't cheep and with a flight sim you can always try a new maneuver that if you crash all you have to do is hit the space bar
