But you need it to change it, to be in line with the times.
Impact weapons (i.e., night sticks) are out; pepper spray is in.
Seems it is more politically correct to subdue a subject by destroying his sinuses with capsicum than it is to knock his lights out or the wind out him with a stick or h/d flashlight. Thank goodness I'm in admin these days...
