even for a beginner i would recommend to hover (+4/5) at 3/4 stick. that makes center stick 0 full positive at 10 and limit your negative through to -4.
throttle should be at high idle at low stick (-4) about 35-40% at center (0) about 50% at hover (+4/5) and 100% at full stick.
i believe that is a pretty save setup for starting.
do not learn hovering at center stick, it is a bad "habbit"
of course like always that is my opinion and there is tons of other ways to do it.
what heli and engine do you have?

Raptor 30, o.s. .32. BUt the linkage is screwed in all the way, how am i suppose to get it to 5 or 6? Is it because something else might be off. I know that the servo the controls the up and down, is in the 2nd spot, not 1st if you know what i mean... LMK

i do not have a raptor so it will be hard for me to tell offhand which linkages might be off, but do a search for raptor help on website and you will find tons of it, i am sure some with pics showing the correct setup.
or some one else here might be able to help
